When it's just Amy and Rory, maybe he's imagining it.

But when River, complete stranger to him, or so she says, looks at him when she thinks he won't notice like she's searching for something and is hurt not to find it that he finally breaks. There's a wrongness crawling all over him.

"What?" he says. Reminder from Amy-in-his-head, volume control, Oliver.

River doesn't startle. "You remind me of someone."

It makes the feeling—wrong-skin-let-me-out-can't-breathe—worse. "I'm the only Oliver you have." He wants it to be a joke. It's more like a plea.

River smiles, mournfully affectionate. "You are."
